How to Fit Flares to Your Ford Ranger or VW Amarok

Everything You Need to Know

Upgrading your 4x4 with wide flares gives it that aggressive stance and extra tyre clearance—but fitment can vary depending on your model and sensor setup. Here’s what you need to know before installing your flares, plus how to do it right.

🛠 Ford Ranger Flare Fitment (Including Sensor Models)

Some Ford Rangers come with front parking sensors, and others don’t. If yours has sensors, no stress—our flares are designed with that in mind.

How to Fit:

  • Simply measure and mark the existing sensor hole location on your flare.

  • Our flares come with sensor cups/brackets to secure the sensor in place.

  • Unclip the sensor from the factory flare and feed the wiring through into the new cup.

  • Apply the high-quality double-sided tape (included), and you're good to go.

👉 Tip: Use the supplied adhesion promoter/primer before applying tape—but be careful, as these primer sticks dry out quickly once opened.

40mm Pre-Wired Ranger Flares:

  • These come with pre-applied double-sided tape.

  • Use masking tape to mark up the flare position before committing to install.

  • Once aligned, follow the line you’ve marked out and stick them down with pressure.

🛠 VW Amarok Flare Fitment

For Amarok models, factory flares must be removed to fit our wide flares.

⚠️ Note: The OEM Amarok flares are very difficult to remove cleanly. Once removed, they cannot be reinstalled, so we recommend committing to the upgrade once you start.

Amarok Flare Install Tips:

  • Remove the factory flare carefully and clean the surface thoroughly.

  • The new flares attach with bottom clips and high-strength double-sided tape.

  • Don’t stress about the tape—with proper prep, it holds extremely well (we use it on all builds).
